Dear Microsoft: please incorporate, as part of Windows core Copy/Paste function, Paste as Plain Text.
Basically, please blatantly copy Steve Miller's PureText, and give the man some props.
Thank you.
That is all.

Oh yell yes please! Why is it that when I copy stuff into Outlook 2003, it gets tagged with a little icon of a clipboard?
ReplyDeleteIf you click on that little clipboard before doing anything else, you get paste options and can choose things like 'match destination formatting' and all sorts of fancy things that are not at all obvious unless you really know how rich text editors work in Microsoft-land.
ReplyDeleteBut really, just defaulting to "paste as plain text" would do what 90% of people want 90% of the time.
If they did "paste as plain text unless it's a hyperlink, in which case paste as an A HREF link then it'd probably do 99% for 99%.
